On Friday, Apr 14, in the first game of a doubleheader against Youngstown State, WSU first baseman Gabe Snyder hit a two run homerun over the left field fence to become the all  time leader in Raider baseball history.

Snyder surpassed Alfredo Batista for the all time record. Batista had 183 career RBI’s from 1983-86.

The season of records may be just beginning for Snyder. He is only two homeruns away from grabbing the WSU career homerun record held by Bryan Vickers, who played from 2002-05.

As for as single season records, Snyder is only five homeruns away from  breaking the single season homerun record held by Nick Shields in 2001 and Bryan Vickers in 2004. Snyder already has the single season record for games started with 63 back in 2016, a record he shares with current WSU head coach Jeff Mercer, who achieved the feat in 2009.

With over a month left in the season, and a potential date with the NCAA tournament, Snyder will have plenty of time to add on to his records in hopes of holding on to it for years to come.
