Students can expect to pay a lot for healthcare benefits, according to the National Coalition on Health Care, a nonprofit alliance that works to improve health care. During college, students can either pay for WSU's health insurance plan or remain under their parent's coverage.

Reflecting the nationwide credit crunch, more than a dozen lenders have pulled out of the federal student loan program. In response to this flight of lenders and the skyrocketing interest rates of traditional private student loans, Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU) unveiled a new product on May 5, 2008: the Credit Union Student Choice loan.

Model UN recieves top honors

Wright State's Model United Nations Team received top honors at the National Collegiate Model U.N. Conference for the 29th year in a row. The WSU team was named an Outstanding Delegation and received an award for their Outstanding Position Papers at the conference held in New York, April 22-26.

Amid rumors surrounding his job performance as SG senator and community advisor for the Woods, SG president-elect Jaccob Lloyd denies any wrongdoing and says he tries to remain "magnanimous" at all times. SG vice president Paulina Zoltowski told The Guardian that Lloyd had been asked to resign his senate position last year because of missed meetings and falsified office hours.

Pedestrian struck by car near popular WSU bars

A pedestrian was struck by a car between Tuty's and W.O. Wright's, two popular bars with WSU students, late Saturday night. Neither the pedestrian or the driver of the car were Wright State students, staff or faculty, according to the WSU police. The status of the pedestrian's injuries is unknown at this time.

Crime Notes

April 27 - Officers were sent to Hamilton Hall on report of a stolen laptop. The student reported that a black student had stolen his laptop and that he had known the student for a couple of months. The student said he had a confrontation earlier with the accused thief where the black student threatened him for using racial slurs.
