Make sure you have the right 'do before you say "I do" on your big day. Follow these easy steps to get the perfect hair for your wedding.

"Half-up, half-down is fairly popular. All up is popular. It depends on the dress basically," said Amanda Grubb, stylist at EPIC Salon & Day Spa.

Another important thing after getting your hair done is not to touch it, said Grubb. She added that when she does on-site weddings that she usually gives the brides-to-be a small can of hairspray.

"If you're a picky bride have everything planned out. But know that, if you do have everything planned to the T, it may not come out the way you expect it," said Grubb.

Here are some tips to keep the hair in place:
• Be on time. "If a bride is 20 minutes late, we're rushing, which means it's compromising the quality of service that she gets," said Brent Johnson, co-owner of Square One Salon & Spa in Dayton.
• Go in for a consultation prior to the wedding day.
• Bring in pictures of your dress.
• Bring a bridesmaid or your mom to get their opinions, and have them take pictures to capture the look that is created.
• Pay in advance. This can get you in and out quicker.
• Get all other services, such as facials, manicures and pedicures done before the day of the wedding.
• Wear a button-up shirt into the salon, so you don't have to pull it over your head before you get into your dress.
• Don't wash your hair the day of the wedding. Instead, wash it the day or night before, because hair with some texture holds the style longer.
• Avoid "super-trendy" looks. "You might look back on your pictures 10 years from now and wonder what you were thinking," said Johnson.
• Avoid piling your hair on the top of your head if your groom isn't that much taller than you.

Extra Tips:
-Always book a run-through (a month to two weeks beforehand
-Keep in mind a haircut and maintenance
-Need to bring whatever you want in your hair to the consultation
-Do one or two hairstyles during consultation, come in with some sort of idea
-Wash hair night before, clean hair doesn't style as well as dirty (not gross dirty though)
