Parking broken? Tell us something we don't know

Parking, parking, parking! When will it ever stop being a problem? The answer seems to be never.

Conducting a study during Fall Quarter, Student Government came back with results that were no big surprise. A problem with parking: who would have known?

Should they be applauded for reporting something that students already know? Or should they be applauded for finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?

Sure, students don't know the exact statistics, but it's not hard to figure out that parking is a problem.

Instead of telling students "parking isn't broken but there is room for improvement," how about improving it? "Broken?" What, are students supposed to consider Lot 4, Lot 6, Lot 10 a broken sink? Should they flip through the yellow pages to call for a plumber to fix it?

And giving "suggestions" on how to find a parking spot isn't the solution either. Students know that to get a "good spot" is to come here early.

Come on, if they're going to take the time and energy to conduct a study and tell students that there is a problem, then they should also provide a solution.

SG should have proposed future parking systems or construction to ease the parking pinch.

Is this where our tution money is going - telling us that we have problems but giving us no solutions? This parking study was a waste of time and resources if the only thing to come out of it is a handful of tips and excuses.

Students paying hard-earned money for parking passes only to have to prak at Meijer is outragious. Meijer is not their school, Wright State University is.

Maybe it is time to address the parking situation in-depth and stop slapping band-aids on a critical wound. All universities have parking problems, but just because all universities have them doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't be fixed.

It is time to face the truth, we need a better solution, or maybe just a parking garage.
